Eagles take 3-0 lead into third period

Print Comment
LOVELAND — Erik Adams, Seth Leonard and Greg Pankewitz each scored for the Colorado Eagles, who overcame a 22-14 shots-on-goal deficit to take a 3-0 lead on the Youngstown Steelhounds in the second round of the President's Cup Playoffs at the Budweiser Events Center on Saturday.

Youngstown, which outshot the Eagles 19-4 in the first 24 minutes of the second game of the best-of-seven series, were held without a shot until the 5:13 mark prior to the second intermission. The Eagles, meanwhile, scored on both of their power-play opportunities during the stretch and took a three-goal lead on a Pankewitz goal with 9:11 remaining in the stanza.

Youngstown is 0-for-5 on power plays so far. Colorado is 2-for-4.
